Class Descriptions:

Puppy and Beginner Class

Basic obedience and manners are taught in this eight-week program. Curriculum includes: Leash manner (no pulling pay attention), Heel, Sit- stay (including from a distance and with distractions), Down-stay, Come, Boundary training, No jumping, Go, Go to place, Drop it, Leave It, and an understanding of how to progress in appropriate steps leading towards off leash control.  Class is appropriate for puppies and dogs of all ages and gives a solid foundation for a well manner pet.  Although class can deal with many problem behaviors classes are not meant to address serious behavior issues, like aggression, which would be better served with private lessons.  If you aren’t sure please call or e-mail Laurie.

Level II Class

After the foundation of training is laid in a beginner class real training results can be achieved in a level II class.  Any dog completing a beginner class or has had basic training may sign up for level II classes at any time. Some people find it beneficial to continue training without any time lag, others like to practice on their own before continuing and sign up after waiting a month or two or even a year. Advantages to taking these classes include: Getting reliability, especially around distractions, getting off leash reliability, advancing basic commands, like sitting and down from a distance, coming to heel position while moving etc and improving your understanding and communication skills with your dog while keeping your dog mentally active and challenged.

Workshop

If you need solutions to specific behavior or training issues like   pulling, jumping, barking, housebreaking, etc. but you can’t fit a full 8-week program in your schedule right now, then this 2-hour workshop may be for you. A great addition to supplement your training, or stand alone to address specific issues.   Learn how to define and reach your goals.  Register early.
